KC Good Citizen DOG SCHEME CLASSES

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme was set up by The Kennel Club to encourage and promote good behaviour for dogs and owners.

There are three levels of awards; Bronze, Silver and Gold which increase in difficulty. These levels provide you with the chance to show off your dog’s skills and continue with your training.

As a listed status trainer, it’s my job to ensure that you get the right training but also have some fun!

Each course lasts five weeks. You and your dog will be going over the basics of training while introducing some new exercises so that your dog learns to be calm and under control. On the final week you will be examined by an independent KC accredited examiner who will decide if you have reached the level required.

Classes currently on hold due to relocation to the County Durham area. Sign up to the newsletter for details of the next dates and venues.

Terms and conditions

Places are strictly limited. Payment will be required in advance to confirm your place. Please note that once a booking has been confirmed and paid for it is non-refundable after the course starts. If you miss a week or the exam you can pay an extra charge to join the next course. Finally, the classes are not suitable for dogs who are very reactive to other dogs or as a socialisation session. Rewards Dog Training reserves the right to remove a dog from the course if it is deemed unsuitable.

Dog Owner Reviews

  • The Hitchens Family

“Soon after bringing home our delightful cockapoo pup, Twiglet, we had a Preschool Puppy Session with Sara in our home. She met the family including our slightly bemused cat! This visit gave us reassurance that we were on the right track and also tips and advice for the forthcoming days and early weeks with a new pup.I would thoroughly recommend Sara’s dog training skills and, importantly, her friendly and approachable manner ensuring that each encounter is enjoyable with laughs along the way!”

  • Steve and Angela

“I wanted to have some basic training for our 12 week old English Bulldog called Mabel and opted for some 1-2-1 lessons as primarily, she wouldn’t be awake for the classes in the event so having them at home really helped. Sara clearly has a vast and in depth knowledge of dog training techniques and tips/advice etc. and Mabel absolutely loved her. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sara and can only thank her for the help and advice shared for Mabel.”

What sort of a relationship do you want with your dog?

Rewards Dog Training can help you right through from those early days with your pup and beyond so that you can have the best start possible to build the relationship you want.

But it’s not all about pups, sometimes owners need help with those ‘teenage’ and ‘senior’ years too! Ask how we can help you to live in harmony with your dog.
